Ponies run wild in Jeffersonville at the Midwest Saleen Event |

Saleen Mustangs, you have heard about them and read about them in magazines, but if you were in Jeffersonville In on Aug 15-16, 2003, you would have got to see them up dose. The Inaugural Midwest Saleen Event was held with owners from around the Midwest invited to bring Owners that attended enjoyed the Welcome BBQ with the Ohio River and the Ohio River Falls as the backdrop. After the welcome fest and social time, participants caravanned to a local cruise-in. The cruise-in is held each month at Youngstown Shopping Center on the 3rd Friday starting in April and ending in October. The
The Falls City Mustang Club, a regional group of the Mustang Club of America, hosted the cruise with a DJ, raffle and trophies and a lot of old time summer fun. |
In addition to the Saleens, there were 60 plus other cars there. Old and new alike, everyone had the same interest, cars, hanging out and listening to the oldies while enjoying the summer nights. The event is open and free to anyone who drives up. On Saturday, The Midwest Saleen Event Car Show was held at Rockies Italian Grill and Buckhead's Mountain Grill parking lots on Riverside Dr in Jeffersonville. The show was focused on Saleens, with 16 attending the show and on display all day. During the day spectators stopped by,
called their friends, and before you knew it, there was quite a crowd. This was the biggest Saleen gathering in the Midwest, and most of the eastern part of the United States at a stand alone Saleen Event. |
